WaveShop

Chris Korda’s WaveShop, a free and open source application for Windows, serves a simple purpose: it can edit WAV audio files. The application provides a waveform representation of a loaded audio file and puts several editing functions at your disposal: insert, cut, amplify, reverse, and more.

You must go through the following steps to get WaveShop up and running on your PC: download a small archive, extract its contents, run the WaveShop.exe file, follow the instructions presented by the setup wizard. You can install the application on a PC powered by Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7.

The WAV audio file you loaded into the application takes up the main part of the interface – as mentioned above, the audio file is displayed as waveform. At the top there’s a bar with playback buttons, a volume slider, and more. And way at the top, where it is usually located, there’s a File Menu that provides easy access to all the application’s features and functions.

Using WaveShop is a simple 3-step process:
Step 1 – load a WAV file. Opening an audio file is such an easy process that you won’t have any problems with it.
Step 2 – edit the audio file you loaded. WaveShop has numerous editing features to offer: copy/cut/paste/insert/delet, normalize, amplify, fade in/out, extract channels, invert, and more.
Step 3 – save the edited audio file.
